Bill Gibson, Chief Financial Officer
   
Mr. Gibson joined Maricom Systems in January 2004 as Chief Financial Officer. Responsibilities include managing all financial aspects of Maricom (accounting operations, managing banking relationships, financial analysis and reporting, financial planning, tax reporting and cost accounting).

 

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Mr. Gibson has over 22 years of accounting experience. Prior to joining Maricom, Mr. Gibson held several high level accounting positions supporting federal and private sectors at a number of organizations including Coopers & Lybrand, Carefirst, Savantage Financial Services, and MATCOM. As the Financial Accounting Manager for Carefirst, Mr. Gibson was responsible for the carrier’s portfolio of over $400 million in receivables.

 

In 1981 Mr. Gibson established himself as a partner and owner of Prosystems. Wearing many managerial hats within the organization, Mr. Gibson is credited with increasing the company’s technical staff thirty-fold and acquiring and retaining several key accounts before selling the company in 1988.

 

Mr. Gibson received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Towson State University and is an active member of the Maryland Association of CPAs (MACPA), a statewide, professional membership organization that represents the majority of practicing Maryland CPAs.
